Strategy Guide

After completing the Bench Bro tutorial (free Common athlete + 200 $GAINZ), your first goal is to rip athlete packs and fill your 6 bench slots. Even Commons on benches earn more than an empty slot.

Key tips:

  • ⏰ Claim your $GAINZ every 8 hours or less (unclaimed epochs cap at 32 / 8 hours) or grab 🧑‍💼 Gym Manager (1,200 RR / 7 days) to auto-claim for you
  • 🩹 Injured athletes can’t be removed — you must heal them before swapping
  • Start saving for your Level 2 upgrade (500 $GAINZ + 500 base power gate) as soon as possible

At Level 2, two things happen:

  1. 🥤 You unlock the Smoothie Bar — flat-boost supplements (25 $GAINZ per pack, discounted to 15 once GNZ unlocks at L4)
  2. 🩹 The injury system activates — athletes can now get hurt

Smoothie boosts are small but stack up. Water Bottles (+10) and Protein Bars (+25) help fill benches with slightly more power. Note that supplements do not count toward the power gate for gym upgrades — only base athlete power matters.

Level 3: Full Core Loop + Arena + Referrals

Section titled “Level 3: Full Core Loop + Arena + Referrals”

At Level 3 you have 10 benches, the full pack/bench/claim loop, Spartacus Arena participation (you can now register for a season on your L3+ gym), and the Referral System (generate codes to invite friends, earn 2,000 RR per signup + 5% ongoing commission on their RR purchases). Focus on:

  • 🪑 Filling all 10 slots
  • ⚔️ Registering for the current season in the right weight class — Featherweight at 1 gym (50 RR entry)
  • 👥 Sharing your referral code — every referral is free RR
  • 💰 Saving for the Level 4 upgrade (2,000 $GAINZ + 4,000 base power)
  • 💪 Building power through pack pulls

This is a turning point. 💊 Percentage-based supplements from GNZ Nutrition are far more powerful than flat boosts, especially on high-rarity athletes. A +5% Creatine on a Legendary (6,000 power) adds 300 power, vs a +50 Pre-Workout Shake.

Strategy: Save GNZ supplements for your best athletes. Don’t waste a Zeus Juice (+100%) on a Common.

The 🧢 trainer system unlocks at Level 5. Trainers give a global percentage boost to all athletes across all gyms.

Key trainer facts:

  • Trainers last 30 days before expiring
  • New trainers have a 24-hour “building rapport” period at 50% effectiveness
  • Higher rarity = bigger boost (1% Common up to 10% Mythic)
  • Trainer packs cost 1,000 $GAINZ

Optimal play: Time your trainer purchases around competition seasons and aim for the highest rarity you can afford.

🧬 Fusion lets you combine same-rarity items into higher-rarity versions. It’s the guaranteed path to higher rarities — you pay extra for the certainty. Fusion works on athletes, supplements, AND trainers — three separate ladders.

Athlete fusion (quick reference — full table in Gameplay Mechanics):

TierAthletes NeededCost
⚪ Common to 🟢 Uncommon3100 $GAINZ
🟢 Uncommon to 🔵 Rare3250 $GAINZ
🔵 Rare to 🟣 Epic5500 $GAINZ
🟣 Epic to 🟡 Legendary75,000 $GAINZ
🟡 Legendary to 🔴 Mythic925,000 $GAINZ

Trainer fusion uses a shallower ladder (2-5 inputs per tier, 1,000-10,000 $GAINZ) since Mythic trainers already drop at ~2% in packs — see Gameplay Mechanics for the full table.

You can also pull high-rarity items directly from packs — fusion is expensive by design, but it removes the luck factor. Athlete and supplement fusions have a small skip chance (3-5%) to jump an extra rarity; trainer fusion is deterministic. No fusion path reaches Exalted — Premium Athlete Packs at Level 8 are the reliable Titan source.

💎 Premium supplement packs (350 $GAINZ, requires Premium Pass at 4,500 RR) guarantee Epic+ drops:

  • 🟣 Epic: 69.5%
  • 🟡 Legendary: 25%
  • 🔴 Mythic: 5%
  • 🏛️ Exalted: 0.5%

These are powerful but expensive. Only buy them when you have high-power athletes to attach them to.

🌟 The endgame athlete source. Premium athlete packs (1,500 $GAINZ, requires Premium Pass) have the same Epic+ base distribution. This is the only way to recruit multiple Titans — fusion stops at Mythic, so there’s no Legendary-to-Exalted path. Every Titan after your first has to come from a Premium Athlete Pack (or a Day-30 Premium Locker drop).

The Mythic drop rate scales with franchise tier — each L8 milestone (Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum/Diamond at 3/6/9/12/15 L8 gyms) adds +0.5% Mythic, taking the base 5% up to 7.5% at Diamond. The boost also applies to weekly competition Epic+ athlete rolls. See Gameplay Mechanics → Franchise System for the full table.

Once your first gym is at L8, consider opening additional gyms (10,000 RR each):

  • Each new gym means more bench slots and more earning power
  • 🥉 3 maxed gyms unlock the Bronze franchise bonus (+1%)
  • More gyms place you in higher competition weight classes with bigger prize pools
  • Max 15 gyms — reaching 👑 Diamond franchise with a Mythic trainer and Mythic/Exalted athletes on every bench unlocks Rebirth

The most efficient way to maximize earnings:

  1. Place your highest-power athletes on benches
  2. Apply percentage-based supplements (GNZ) to your best athletes first
  3. Keep a high-rarity trainer active at all times
  4. Build toward franchise bonuses with multiple L8 gyms
  • 🏛️ Titan (Exalted) athletes have no warm-up — bench them immediately
  • Use Warmup Skip Tokens (from Daily Locker) on your highest-power athletes first
  • Skipping warm-up doesn’t give you more $GAINZ on your next claim — claims accrue up to the moment you click regardless of warm-up state. What warm-up skips actually buy you is full-power earning starting sooner on every future epoch. The higher the athlete’s rarity (and the longer the warm-up), the more future epochs justify the skip cost
  • 🔴 Heal high-rarity athletes immediately — the power loss from 100% to 30% is devastating on a Legendary/Mythic
  • You can’t swap out injured athletes, so healing is mandatory
  • 🎟️ Keep Heal Tokens (Daily Locker) for your most expensive athletes — apply them directly to a Mythic/Legendary’s bench slot to auto-consume on injury (no $GAINZ cost)
  • 🧑‍⚕️ Hire Physical Therapist (1,125 RR / 7 days) reduces injury chance by 33% across your bench AND auto-heals during every claim using your $GAINZ balance, highest rarity first. Great if you run many high-rarity athletes and can’t babysit injuries — skips any heal you can’t afford. Pause toggles auto-heal off if you want manual control of GAINZ spend; the 33% reduction and the 7-day timer keep running.
  • Always claim your daily reward — the 30-day track adds up to significant value
  • 💎 Premium locker (2,500 RR) is worth it if you plan to play the full 30 days
  • Catch-up (50 RR/day) is expensive — try not to miss days
  • Enter competitions during the 7-day Making Weight window to avoid the 1.5x and 2x late-entry fees — AND to count a full season’s claims toward your total
  • Late entrants only count $GAINZ earned from the moment they register — prior season claims don’t roll over. The sooner you register, the longer your scoring window
  • Don’t enter at the 2x late-entry fee (days 31-60) unless you’re confident in placing well and have enough time left to accumulate claims
  • Scoring is based on total $GAINZ claimed, so consistent play beats sporadic bursts
  • If you’re borderline between weight classes, consider staying in the lower class for a better shot at top 10 — or pay the new class’s entry fee mid-season to jump up (resets your scoring window, same as a late entry)
  • Pack ripping is the primary $GAINZ sink — budget your spending
  • All $GAINZ spent in-game are burned, so every purchase is a permanent removal from supply
  • Consider saving for premium packs at L7/L8 rather than mass-ripping standard packs
  • Every claim day you skip costs +0.5% future power — the streak is one of the cheapest boosts in the game if you’re already logging in
  • A withdrawal triggers two penalties: a 24h power deduction (sized to net amount ÷ 10 bps) AND a streak cut of 4-10 days. Batch withdrawals rather than dribbling — one 30k pull is much cheaper than three 10k pulls (-8d once vs -12d cumulative)
  • The 24h penalty applies to your effective power, so leaderboard position dips during the window. If you’re contending in the Arena, time withdrawals for after the weekly snapshot
